Founded in 1893, Monroe Harding has continually adapted to meet the needs of children who have been abused, abandoned, and/or neglected. Monroe Harding today is a healing community where youth and families make meaningful change so that hope, not past trauma, is the heartbeat of their future. The funds requested in the application will support a portion of the salary and benefits of our Director of Clinical Services to provide direct services and staff training. 60% (18) of the youth will reduce at least two trauma-related symptoms. 60% (18) of the youth will demonstrate 70% improvement in one of the following areas: self-concept, anxiety, depression, anger, and behavioral issues as measured on the Beck Assessment. An improvement of at least 70% demonstrates that participants have learned more about themselves and developed stronger, healthy coping skills to deal with daily stressors they will face upon returning to their community.
