Since 2007, Building Lives Foundation (BLF) has been helping homeless veterans and their families successfully transition to independent living in permanent housing. BLF assists homeless veterans through one-on-one mentoring, health and psychological care referrals, employment, transportation, housing and financial education through two primary programs. Project Advance serves single veterans and veterans with families in a community-based program, helping them to attain employment, permanent housing, and other supports. The grant requested in this application will be used to fund participant drug testing, medications, co-pays, transportation to appointments/treatment and a portion of the salary for our Operations Manager to ensure substance abuse treatment and improved health for clients at The Academy. 15 of 17 (90%) men who stay in the at least 30 days will reduce their depression symptoms. 10 of 17 (60%) will meet their program goals and transition to independent living.
