All grant proposals should display and emphasize respect for the dignity of all persons. Programs submitted should be consistent with the principles espoused by the mission and core values of the Baptist Healing Trust. The Trust advocates:
Access: Access to holistic, quality healthcare is a right of every individual
Dignity: Every human being is worthy of/deserves compassionate healthcare
Impact: Initiatives address immediate needs and act as a catalyst for long-term solutions
Compassionate culture: Cultures of mindfulness, wisdom, peace, love and justice are essential to the delivery of compassionate healthcare
Additionally, grant applicants must have their own statement of inclusiveness or non-discrimination. Please review the BHT Statement of Inclusiveness prior to making application to ensure that the potential applicant organization and its programs are consistent with inclustion.
Our Statement of Inclusiveness: The mission of the Baptist Healing Trust is the sacred work of fostering healing and wholeness for vulnerable populations through strategic investing, philanthropy, and advocacy. Through our grant making programs, the Trust aims to increase access to quality, compassionate healthcare for vulnerable populations across Middle Tennessee. The Trust’s grant making policies reflect the belief that organizational performance is greatly enhanced when people with different backgrounds and perspectives are engaged in an organization’s activities and decision-making process. Thus, the Trust actively seeks to promote access, equity and inclusiveness, and to discourage discrimination based on race, creed, ethnicity, gender, age, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, and other factors that deny the essential humanity of all people. This principle is a lens through which all of the work of the Trust is viewed.
