This grant is part of a five year strategic medical education initaitive with the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine to educate health professionals around interprofessional compassionate care.  The Vanderbilt School of Medicine graduates 105 students annually.  The mission of the school is medical education, patient care and medical research. The grant requested in this application will be used to fund
1. Patient care and education of learners at the UNHS Downtown Clinic for the Homeless.
2. Continue social work position to enhance compassionate care curriculum for interprofessional team learning.
3. Design and implement faculty development workshops for interprofessional care.
4. Train VPIL students and faculty in fundamentals of health coaching.

Participants will demonstrate an understanding of the fundamental knowledge, attitudes, and team strategies necessary to implement interprofessional care and coaching in their clinical learning environment. Students will demonstrate an understanding of fundamental coaching knowledge, attitudes and skills necessary for providing compassionate care that supports positive behavior change.
