The mission of the Upper Cumberland Child Advocacy Center (UCCAC) is to serve children who are victims of severe sexual and physical abuse through prevention, education, and intervention.  The CAC serves seven rural underserved and disadvantaged counties within the 13th judicial district, the largest area served by any CAC.   This grant will fund the salary for the Victims Service Coordinator.  23 out of 45 (50%) of clients who are actively involved in therapy will improve their score on the Child Behavior Checklist by reporting a decrease in anxiety, depression, aggression, social problems and/or attention span over the course of 12 months.  20 out of 25 (80%) will feel better prepared and more confident for the criminal court system because the Advocate has educated them on the process and what to expect so that the child and family are able to participate in the justice process.
