THCC is a statewide non-partisan, non-profit patient advocacy organization working towards affordable access to high-quality health care for all Tennesseans. Their strategy is three-fold: 1) direct service to help people in need find health care coverage, safety-net services or charity care; 2) community outreach and public education about health care policy, resources, public programs, and systems of care; and 3) advocacy through coalition building and policy work. Since 1989, THCC has worked in collaboration with advocacy groups, affected constituents, community leaders, and policymakers - from grassroots to grasstops - to influence positive change in public health and health care.  The goals include increasing the number of education and outreach events regarding the policies changes coming from the Affordable Care Act including the new insurance exchange and the needed consumer assistance regarding the exchange.  Additionally, the agency will expand its ability to provide technical assistance to agencies who would like to provide consumer assistance.
