Tennessee Disability Coalition was formally founded in 1989 as the Coalition for Community Services. The Coalition was created from seven initial founding organizations to be an organization with membership of more than 40 groups who work together to promote the full and equal participation of people with disabilities in all aspects of life. Through advocacy, the agency seeks to improve health for Tennesseans by improving services and supports for Tennesseans with disabilities through implementation of new eligibility categories within the Employment and Community First (ECF) CHOICES Program. The Coalition is also committed to serving as a disability health policy resource for the TennCare Bureau and improving access to quality, affordable health care for Tennesseans with disabilities.
