Tennessee Conference for Social Work
TCSW was established in 1913 to promote social welfare policy reform. It is a statewide non-profit membership organization providing information, education, and advocacy to social service professionals throughout Tennessee. TCSW's mission is "to improve and empower the lives of all Tennesseans." More than 52 member agencies represent a variety of causes, providing mental health, education, disability, and child welfare services, health education, crisis intervention, and other help to vulnerable Tennesseans. TCSW works collaboratively with public and private organizations to deliver professional training opportunities, promote effective social policies, and enhance the image of social service organizations, professionals, and consumers. The grant will be used to fund public outreach and education to health and social service organizations around the upcoming Affordable Care Act implementation targeting representatives that could serve as potential referral sources for identifying eligible individuals as well as providing consumer assistance. Presentations and workshops will take place at TCSW conferences as well as across the state at other venues.
