Tennessee Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence
Established in 1983, the Tennessee Coalition to End Domestic and Sexual Violence is a statewide non-profit coalition of diverse community leaders and program members committed to our mission of ending domestic and sexual violence in the lives of Tennesseans and changing societal attitudes and institutions which promote and condone violence through public policy advocacy, education, and activities which increase the capacity of programs and communities to address such violence. The grant requested in this application will be used to fund emergency financial assistance to survivors that is directly related to their experience of abuse and helps them to become safer. In addition, a program specialist will connect survivors to the appropriate local program to ensure that they have access to a full range of supportive services. 27 of 30 survivors (90%) will report that the assistance they received helped them feel safer. 17 of 30 survivors (55%) will report that the assistance they received helped them learn how to access benefits or community resources. 27 of 30 survivors (90%) will report that the assistance they received helped remove barriers to safety.
