Tennessee Chapter of Child Advocacy Center
Founded in 1996, Tennessee Chapter of Children's Advocacy Centers (TNCAC) mission is to promote, assist and support the development, growth and continuation of child advocacy centers (CACS) in their service to abused and neglected children and their families. The grant requested in this application will be used to fund child abuse prevention trainings for 1000 adults, purchasing training workbooks and the Middle Tennessee prevention specialist's salary. TNCAC would train an additional 5 more Steward's of Children authorized facilitators in Middle Tennessee. 750 of 1000, (75%) of participants will have a 10% increase in knowledge regarding the steps to take to prevent, recognize and respond to child sexual abuse more effective as determined by pre and post test training questionnaires. 40 of 50 (80%) of organizations will make positive changes to expand, clarify or improve policies and procedures. After the training, 70% of organizations (35 of 50) will require child abuse training for all staff, background checks for volunteers and employees, and prioritize minimizing one on one situations in their policies and procedures.
