Salvus Center's mission is to be a faith-based health clinic that seeks to reclaim the Biblical and historical commitment to care for those who are sick and in need, so they might experience wholeness, wellness, and healing.  Salvus Center was established as a 501(c)(3) organization on 6/10/05 and the initial clinic opened in Gallatin in 2006.  A second clinic opened in Hendersonville in 2008 in an effort to make primary health care more accessible for additional uninsured residents of Sumner County.  Patient fees are set on a sliding scale of $10 to $30 and lab and diagnostic tests are arranged for minimal fees.  Since opening, Salvus Center has seen over 5,000 patients for over 20,000 visits. Its goals for the year include providing dental care for Salvus patients and other low-income residents of Sumner County; initiating a program to combat obesity among patients, and initiating a program to provide diabetes education regarding diet and how to monitor blood sugar levels for its diabetic patients who exhibit an interest in this.
