 The Refuge Center for Counseling, established in 2005, exists to offer affordable professional counseling services in order to empower, educate and support individuals, couples and families in need. The funds requested in the application will support Clinical EMDR therapist salary and wages, equipment, supplies (purchase of assessments), professional development, professional services (APN), administrative overhead.  The agency’s outcomes include:  111 of 131 (or 85%) of trauma survivors served will report they have a physical and emotional safety plan and their sense of personal empowerment has increased. 94 of 117 (or 80%) of trauma survivors served who commit to 4 or more EMDR reprocessing sessions will report at least a 50% decrease of the SUD (Subjective Units of Disturbance)  Level related to the traumatic memory.   94 of 117 (or 80%) of trauma survivors served who commit to 4 or more EMDR reprocessing sessions will report at least at a 50% increase of the VOC (Validity of Cognition) Level related to their belief about self in conjunction with the traumatic memory.  110 of 130 (or 85%) of clients will report that as a result of the mental health assessment they have an understanding of their psychiatric needs and diagnosis and have a plan for medication (in conjunction with counseling) that meets their needs.  93 of 110 (or 85%) of clients that present with anxiety, depression or PTSD (and completed the pre-post test trauma assessments) will report a 50% decrease in symptoms.
