 Since 2003, Peace Unlimited has provided transitional for women seeking recovery from drug and alcohol addiction, co-occurring disorders and the affects of domestic violence.  Beginning in 2011, the organization will begin to provide permanent housing.  Supportive services include life skills, job readiness, twelve-step programs, recovery skills and transportation. All residents complete volunteer work as a condition of program completion.  The grant requested will be used to fund drug testing and related expenses. 21 of 28 (75%) of those who complete the transitional housing program and continue to access supportive services at Peace Unlimited, maintain contact with their sponsor or other support group will not go back to jail/institution during the grant period. 25 of 28 (90%) of those who complete the transitional housing program and continue to access supportive services at Peace Unlimited, maintain contact with their sponsor or other support group and were diagnosed with mental illness or co-occurring disorder will continue to take medication according to their treatment plan during the grant period.5 of 7 (80%) of permanent housing residents will maintain sobriety as evidenced by passing all drug screens.
