New Hope Academy, a nonprofit, independent school founded in 1996, is dedicated to a unique educational experience, equipping children from all backgrounds to become a generation of leaders. This vision is cultivated through three commitments: the promise of excellent, classical education; the mission to the underprivileged; and the belief in connected, purposeful community. The grant requested in this application will be used to fund the school based mental health counseling program at New Hope Academy. More specifically, the provision of one full time, licensed therapist onsite in collaboration with Mercy Health Services. 27 of 38 (75%) of NHA students in counseling program will reduce at least 2 symptoms to an acceptable range in the classroom and or at home after 8 counseling sessions. 9 of 12 (75%) of NHA teachers with children receiving services will report a healthier class environment. 51 of 60 (85%) in-service participants will report an increased awareness of how to access services to create mental healing after participating in the in-service activity.
