 In 1996, Nashville Drug Court Support Foundation (NDCSF) was incorporated as a 501 (3) 3 to help the substance abuse problem in the criminal justice system. Its mission is to serve as a model long-term recovery program and alternative to incarceration for persons with substance abuse and/or mental illness.  The funds requested in the application will support a portion of a salary for position who serves as a support liaison between Drug Court (DC4) and Mental Health Court (MHC) and other partnering agencies from government and private sector; and funding support toward dental care/repair, and drug testing costs for Davidson County Drug Court participants. The agency’s outcomes include:  14/20 (70%) DC4 intakes with co-occurring addiction and mental health disorders/veterans will remain in the residential program for at least 90 days and reach at least 120-days of consistent sobriety; 18/25 (72%) DC4 General Drug Court/Methamphetamine/Prescription Drug intakes will remain in the residential program for at least 9 months and maintain at least 9 months of consistent sobriety. 14/20 (70%) DC4 intakes with co-occurring addiction and mental health disorders/veterans and 18/25 (72%) DC4 General Drug Court/Methamphetamine/Prescription Drug intakes will demonstrate improvement in 2 mental health symptoms (i.e. depression, sadness, hopelessness, loss of interest)
