 Founded in 1987, The Minnie Pearl Cancer Foundation is a nonprofit public charity committed to improving the lives of people impacted by cancer, as well as promoting cancer awareness and education and access to clinical research.  Through its Resource Center and website, MPCF offers cancer supportive services including oncology social work, side effect management assistance and nutrition consultations, a library of cancer-related materials, and numerous educational and support programs free-of-charge and regardless of treatment location.  The grant requested will be used to fund a portion of  two registered dietitians salaries. 291 of 486 (60%) clients report that the patient was able to maintain their weight during treatment after establishing a relationship with one of our registered dietitians. 291 of 486 (60%) clients report that the patient was able to better manage their nutrition related symptoms and side effect after establishing a relationship with one of our registered dietitians.  340 of 486 (75%) patients and/or their caregivers experienced increased confidence in making appropriate food choices after establishing a relationship with one of our registered dietitians.
