 MHAMT was established in 1946 and is the oldest mental health agency in Middle Tennessee. Their mission is to connect the community with specialized mental health and wellness resources, provide services that improve the quality of life and promote effective services where mental health needs exist. The grant requested will support the Multicultural Outreach Program through funding a portion of the Multicultural Outreach Coordinator's salary and benefits, mileage, and materials for support group participants. Outcomes include: 80 of 100 (80%) non-English speaking students will report improved self-esteem, decision-making skills, and behavior management and impulse control through a two (2) point increase on a 5-point Likert Scale. 32 of 40 (80%) parents will agree or strongly agree that the workshop increased their confidence in dealing with their children. The same proportion will report that the workshop improved their parenting knowledge and skills by 3 points  (30%) on a 10-point scale. 40 of 50 (80%) Hispanic women will report an increase in feelings of pride, confidence in themselves and their futures, and feelings of purposefulness as indicated by a one (1) point  increase on a 4-point Likert Scale. 37 of 40 (94%) Hispanic women will complete program goals and complete a personal history document in order to apply for a temporary Visa.
