Hearing Bridges strives to unite the Deaf, the Hard of Hearing and the Hearing communities through education, services and support, empowering individuals to achieve their full potential, and has done so since 1927.  It is the oldest and only community-based agency dedicated to providing a range of services for Deaf, deaf-blind, and hard of hearing in Middle Tennessee.  The grant requested in this application will be used to fund staff to plan and deliver programming, including education presentations, individual evaluations, and intervention classes, as well as professional services from interpreters, transcribers, and wellness course instructors and lecturers. 169 of 225 (75%) of educational presentation attendees will demonstrate an increased knowledge of the subject covered and behaviors they can change to improve their own health or the health of their Deaf or hard of hearing patients. 31 of 37 (85%)  of participants who attend intervention classes will establish at least 3 wellness goals at the beginning of the series and will make positive progress toward at least 50% of their goals by the end of the class series.
