Family and Children's Service
Founded in 1943, Family & Children's Service serves all people in crisis and transition by meeting them where they are, understanding their needs, and providing them with the resources they need. The mission of FCS is to connect individuals and families to hope, to healing, and to one another. FCS often 'fills in the gaps' in social services, creating a safety net to ensure that all children and families can be safe, healthy, and connected. The agency's goals for the year include: 1. Children and/or adults with mental health problems will make positive changes and show progress toward goals as they work toward the outcome of improved management of their mental health problems. 2. People in crisis or in need of emotional support will reach successful resolutions by recognizing the need for help, decreasing their immediate state of crisis and/or meeting their need for emotional support. 3. Children in foster care will be able to maintain placement in a family setting and will not require an increased level of care.
