The Davis House Child Advocacy Center opened in September, 2000 to provide a safe, child-friendly place for child victims of sexual and/or severe physical abuse to tell their story and receive the services they need to help them heal. The agency’s mission is to combat child abuse by coordinating services to children and their families in crisis and providing community education focused on prevention and early intervention. The funds requested in the application will support a portion of the salary/wages for two part-time clinical therapists, who provide mental health counseling for child victims of sexual and/or severe physical abuse. 55 out of 75 (75%) of child victims will complete all treatment goals during calendar year 2017 based on therapist’s progress notes. 60 out of 75 (80%) of child victims (whether or not they complete all treatment goals) will have increased feelings of safety and/or reduced anxiety based on pre- and post-assessments during calendar year 2017 and will know who their trusted adults are.
