Conexion Americas' mission is to help Latino families realize their aspirations for social and economic advancement by promoting their integration into the Middle Tennessee community. Founded in 2002, Conexion Americas is recognized as the leading Latino organization in the region and state. The grant requested will support a portion of salaries and benefits for 2.5 co-located therapists working for Family and Children's Services but located at Casa Azafran, Martha O'Bryan, and Nurses for Newborns. Outcomes include: 202 Children/adults (90% of 225 children/adults) with mental health problems will identify their needs, strengths and risk factors and begin to develop a clearer understanding of their problems. 182 Children/adults (90% of 202 children/adults from Milestone 1) will develop a treatment plan focused on addressing mental health issues such as safety and self-care, family stabilization, life transitions, etc. 163 Children/adults (90% of 182 children/adults from Milestone 2) will report feeling more connected than before counseling and believe that they know how to reach out for help. 145 Children/adults (80% of 182 children/adults) will make positive changes and show progress by meeting 2 out of 3 goals on their treatment plan as they work toward improved management of their mental health problems.
