CASA of Maury County
The program was established as a legal entity in December, 2005, and began serving children in September, 2006. Its mission is to advocate for the best interests of children ages 0-18 who have been victims of abuse and neglect. This is done through the services of carefully selected and well trained community volunteers, referred to as Court Appointed Special Advocates. Their work is to advocate for safe and permanent homes where the children can be free from further abuse and neglect. The grant requested in this application will be used to fund salary support for the Program Director. CASA of Maury County will achieve acceptance of its recommendations for permanency in 81 of 88 (92%) cases closed. At case closure 75 of 88 (85%) of the children, and/or their families of placement served by a CASA will have appropriate wrap-around services (mental health, Families First Training, Adoption Support and Preservation Program, etc.) to aid in successful permanency. Six months after case closure 82 of 88 (93%) of the children served by CASA will be in safe, permanent homes free of re-abuse.
