Caregiver Relief Program of Bedford County
The Caregiver Relief Program began in 1992 as a mission project to educate the community about dementia and related diseases. It offers free nursing care to families of persons suffering with memory loss and their caregivers, assists the families in finding other "help" available in the area and offers respite reimbursement with the collaboration effort with the TN Respite Coalition. The grant requested in this application will be used to directly fund the respite visits by the nurse program director. Of the 120 persons served on a regular basis, 96 clients (80%) will note that their own health has improved and understand the importance of making their health a priority by reporting that they have kept their physicians appointments and done at least one activity to improve their own health. 96 clients (80%) will report that they have the funds to pay for at least some respite care weekly. 96 of the 120 (80%) of the clients served will report positive satisfaction through completing a satisfaction survey twice a year.
