Bridges DVC was founded in September 1998 and serves women, men and their children affected by domestic violence, ensuring a safe transition to successful independent community living, through education, intervention and case management. Bridges is the only domestic violence shelter in Williamson County dedicated to assisting victims of physical, mental and sexual abuse. The agency’s goals/outcomes for the year include: 41 of 47 (87%) of adult clients will show improved mental health through a 10-point increase in their GAF score from intake to termination. 12 of 15 (80%) of their most traumatized adult clients that present with symptoms of Acute Stress Disorder or PTSD will show a 35% reduction in the frequency and severity of symptoms after five sessions. 106 of 113 (94%) of adult clients served through individual and/or group counseling services will report they have a physical/emotional safety plan and their sense of personal empowerment has increased.
