The American Red Cross, a humanitarian organization led by volunteers and guided by its congressional charter and fundamental principles of the International Red Cross movement, will provide relief to victims of disaster and help people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies. The American Red Cross was established in 1917. It endeavors to relieve the suffering of individuals, being guided solely by their needs, and to give priority to the most urgent cases of distress.  This grant will fund health related supplies needed by disaster victims.  We expect that 105 of 150 (70%) of our clients that are given health services will state that all their health needs (i.e. health assessment, hospitalization discharge, emergency medication refill and/or medical health supplies) have been met by the Red Cross within 60 days of service; helping us to understand how program's value to our community.  12 of 15 (80%) of clients given financial assistance for medical supplies or emergency prescription refills will state that all their health needs have been met in follow up casework by our client caseworker within 60 days of service. 135 of 150 (90%) of clients given health services during a disaster will have the support and resources needed to begin their long-term recovery and will find safe and adequate semi-permanent shelter within 60 days of service.
