The stars came out in Nashville as the Center for Nonprofit Management celebrated the 2011 Salute to Excellence Awards with 1,000 community leaders and colleagues on September 20 at the Renaissance Hotel.
The “Academy Awards” of the nonprofit community in Middle Tennessee, $176,000 in awards was given to 10 extraordinary recipients.
Baptist Healing Trust sponsors two awards at the Salute to Excellence and congratulates the award winners and the finalists.
The Baptist Healing Trust Compassionate Care Award recognizes a non-profit where love and compassion characterize its delivery of service.
The Compassionate Care award went to STARS Nashville. The finalist was Safe Haven Family Shelter.
The Baptist Healing Trust Access to Care Award recognizes organizations that demonstrate boldness in expanding access to care, especially for the vulnerable and underserved in Middle Tennessee. Eliminating barriers and expanding access to care may be demonstrated by implementing social entrepreneurial ventures that expand the agency’s reach and/or engaging in systems change advocacy (i.e. efforts to influence public or institutional policy.)
The Access to Care award went to Streetworks. The finalists were Magdalene/Thistle Farms and First Steps.
